• Good footwear • One litre of water carrying capacity

• First aid kit per team • One cellphone per team

• Whistle

• Pencil

• Compass

• Food

• Torch for night events

There is cellphone coverage over most of the high points around course. Running water on the hills is good to drink. There is no compulsory gear list for the 3hr event but we suggest everyone take at least a jacket, water, food and first aid kit for your team. There is no meal provided with the 3hr event

Handy stuff you may need. Map Cover, pens, compass, highlighters, spare batteries, toilet paper, sunblock. For the 3 and 6hr teams Check that your pen/pencil works on shiny paper and that it is waterproof. The best pen to mark on our weather proof score sheets is a Stabilo, Write-4-all, permanent.

You will need to take food snacks with you to last the time you’re out there… please be careful with wrappers! It pains me to point it out but in recent Rogaines we have had feedback about rubbish on the course – this is a MAJOR No-No! have a spare zip-lock plastic bag to put your rubbish in – unfortunately it can easily fall out of pockets.

That’s about all for now. I’m sure there will be more to follow as I think of it Look forward to catching up with you all on Saturday (some of you keener ones Friday!).

Rest well, there are some great hills out there.

Don’t let the word Championship put you off we have a very user friendly course suitable for all levels.  Along side the Champs we will be running 3hr and 6hr events for the slightly less adventurous.  Don’t be scared to give the 24hr Champs a crack.  It seems intimidating but its not.  You can stay in the field as long as you like, rest as long as you like and eat as much as you like at the hash-house on the course.
