The Ultra Easy 107k Sky Run is a 107km loop, starting in Luggate, running the river trail to Albert Town, over Mt Iron, Roys Peak, Mt Alpha, Little Criffel and joining the marathon course to go over Mt Pisa – about 4700m of climbing and descending. –  3am start. 20hr cut off. Not to be taken lightly!

The Ultra Easy Relay Category is on again!! 5 legs –  15.1km with 388m vert, 23km with 1700m vert, 21.4km with 1500m vert , 29km with 753 vert (and 1800m decent!), 13.4km with 150m vert. Strava maps for each leg here.

The Big Easy Mountain Marathon is 42.2km starting at the Snow Farm 1500m above the Cardrona Valley. 1pm start – nice and relaxed. You run the gentle trails of the cross-country skiing trails then 9km of ‘up’ to the top of Mt Pisa then 21km of ‘down’ to the finish at Luggate.

The 12 k river run is the last part of the course – 4pm start at Luggate beautiful trails following the Clutha river farm tracks. Then lounge on the grass under the willow trees  and support the longer distances as they come in!

Event Location and Time

The Ultra Easy 100KM Run starts at 3:00AM at the Albert Town Tavern.
The 13K Clutha River Run starts at 12:00PM at the Albert Town Tavern.

Course closes at 11pm. Cut-offs will be strictly enforced.

You must leave the following aid stations by the following times or you will be pulled off the course;

  • Cardrona – 36k 11:00AM
  • Bob Lee Hut (Marathon Start basically) – 56k 3:30PM
  • Lake McKay Woolshed – 88k 9:00PM


Required Gear:

**We highly encourage runners to not wear listening devices of any description.  The temperature most likely will change by 20 degrees (at least) throughout the race and the potential for it to snow at anytime of the year is quite plausible. Therefore Compulsory gear will be checked at registration.

  • Two top thermal layers
  • Seam sealed water proof jacket
  • Thermal leggings
  • Warm hat/thirband
  • Gloves
  • Whistle
  • Survival blanket
  • Headlight
  • Reflective pack/vest for running through town at 3am.

Aid Stations

Full SOS or Horley’s replace Electrolyte, water, chips/pretzels, bananas, lollies.
Basic water.
Drop bags must be clearly marked with race # and name. These need to be packed and left at the Albert Town Tavern on Friday night by 6pm!

  • Start of Leg 2/Bottom Roys peak (15km) – Full + drop bags
  • Mt Alpha- Basic
  • Start of Leg 3/ Cardrona Valley (38km) – Full + drop bags
  • Little Criffle- Basic
  • Start of Leg 4/ Bob Lee Hut- Full (60km) + drop bags
  • Mt Pisa- Basic
  • Lake McKay- Basic
  • Start of Leg 5/Lake McKay Station Woolshed (87km)- Full + drop bags
  • Stevenson Rd (5km to go)- Basic

There will be water and electrolyte 6ks from the finish, 6km further back at the woolshed, then about every 10km through the rest of the course. From the top of Mt. Alpha it is about 13K until there is water at the bottom.  There is 15K between water from start at Albert Town Tavern to Bottom of Roys Peak track.

11:00PM All entrants for The Ultra Easy must return to Albert Town Tavern
