Mt Difficulty Ascent
The Mt Difficulty Ascent is a mountain trail ‘run’ of either 25km or 44km distance. The reality is some sections of the ascent are between 40-50′. We also have a 200m section with a set rope in part of the decent, mostly to keep you on course but also as a safety requirement from a legal perspective. This is an ADVENTURE RUN folks, the ‘adventure’ part means you cant run all of this course. The ups are really UP! You’ll be hands on knees, puffing just to walk, at times you will be using your hands to help you scramble up some dirty, rocky slopes, maybe churning through snow…

Big Easy Mountain Marathon
The Big Easy Mountain Marathon starts at the Snow Farm (1521m) and now winds its way south around the easy gradient cross-country ski trails of the Snow Farm before coming back to the lodge then dropping down into the Roaring Meg valley. From this point it is a steady uphill climb toward Mt. Pisa via the Kirsty Burn track. The course veers left before the summit at 1916m then there is a wee dip through ‘Sally’s pinch’ before your second aid station at the highest point of the race, 1946m, before heading downhill toward Luggate. The downhill does, in places, require you to watch where you are putting your feet! The scenery is spectacular but the ground is quite rough under foot. The down hill gets steeper as you get closer to the bottom – treat this is a mountain mission, a day in the hills, take you time and enjoy. If you wanna actually ‘race’ it be prepared for seriously distressed quads for the rest of the week!
Ultra Easy 100km
The Ultra Easy 104k Sky Run is a 104km loop, starting in Luggate, running the river trail to Albert Town, over Mt Iron, Roys Peak, Mt Alpha, Little Criffel and joining the marathon course to go over Mt Pisa – about 4700m of climbing and descending. – 3am start. 20hr cut off. Not to be taken lightly!
